Boy, I just got an email I was really hoping to avoid. One of my customers had a bass in for repair at the time that G&L went under. Oy, what a mess.

I reached out to my former G&L inside guy and got a glimmer of hope (thank you, Steve Araujo!). The company MIRC (Musical Instrument Reclamation Corporation) in Nashville bought all of G&L's existing inventory plus whatever bodies and necks were in process. As part of their deal, MIRC is supposed to complete any repair work that was in process and return the instruments to their rightful owners.

If anyone out there is in the same boat, here is MIRC's contact info. I suggest you reach out to them immediately to try to recover your instrument.

If the internet rumors are to be believed... G&L seems to be in the process of being sold, so there will either be new ownership that continues operations or it may just cease to exist as a brand.

I've got a handful of special orders in the works with them, and I'm not sure what the disposition of those orders will be. In the worst-case scenario, those orders won't get built and I'll have to refund deposits.

Our latest arrival from the G&L Custom Shop is a CLF L-2000 in Alpine White Frost over Roasted Alder. The scraped binding on the body exposes a thin stripe of the dark brown Roasted Alder, and the neck is dressed up with white blocks and binding.

It's a super cool look, and I hope Jon who ordered it is extremely pleased with it once it gets to him.
