My boyfriend, Corey, is the owner of Hagman's Handyman Service and has spent years helping others in our community. In 2020 he was diagnosed with a bicuspid aortic valve, but due to Covid and that he was not in immediate distress, doctors told him not to worry. Corey has not been feeling well or able to work since February, but we thought he just had a virus. In April of this year Corey was admitted to the hospital after experiencing an episode where his body felt so heavy he could hardly move. The doctors at Cambridge Hospital took blood and did a CT and EKG and it was found that Corey was in heart failure. He was ambulanced to Abbott Hospital where they did further tests and found his heart was only functioning at 40% and he also had an aortic aneurysm. Corey was told open heart surgery was his only option.
