➡️ TOMORROW: Advisory Council Meeting and Public Rally

OMMA is aware of a public rally taking place tomorrow at the State Capitol and Connors Building following the regularly scheduled Advisory Council meeting. The agency respects Oklahomans’ right to peacefully assemble and engage in the policymaking process.

As a reminder, OMMA is an executive branch regulatory agency that implements state laws as directed by Oklahoma voters, the Legislature and the Governor. Oklahomans are encouraged to contact their lawmakers with any concerns regarding proposed or passed legislation. Members of the public are welcome to attend OMMA Advisory Council meetings and participate in the OMMA Rulemaking Process to share comments for rulemaking consideration.

🌳 With a crowd anticipated for the rally, OMMA asks that all attendees please be mindful when gathering outside of the Connors Building in the courtyard, as the area is a memorial grove honoring victims of the 1995 OKC bombing.

Although the memorial should always be treated with respect, it’s especially important with the upcoming 31st anniversary of the tragic event on April 19 – an extra sensitive time for families and loved ones visiting the memorial.

Why, yeah! Ya can totally dry dandelion flowers without them goin’ to seed. It does take a lil’ extra TLC though. This is how I do it. ☀️

If ya wanna preserve those sunshiney blossoms, pick only big, bright flowers in the later mornin’ once the dew has dried. IMMEDIATELY start processin’ ‘em after pickin’. If ya can get by with it, don’t warsh ‘em because that kickstarts the seeding process. If ya must warsh, the quicker the rinse, the better.

Lay ‘em bloom side down on dehydrator trays while leavin’ room for air circulation. Set the temp to 95 degrees. We wanna go low and slow because first off, it preserves the medicinal benefits, and second, higher heat will cause ‘em to go fluffy.

8-12 hours of dryin’ time should get the job done. Once they are crispy dry, I store ‘em in an airtight container (usually a mason jar). Now ya got yerself some preserved dandies to use later as ya wish. It’s especially good for tea, salves, balms, and decor!

GO FORTH AND FORAGE! ✌🏼
