Time flies when you're having fun! It's been a busy summer, and we're so excited to see many of you out and about enjoying the joys of the downtown construction enhancements. We hope to see many more of you in store soon - and who knows you just might be one of our customer highlights 🤩

😍 These first time customers were excited about the choices of journals from Mr. Ellie Pooh. All of their paper products are 100% recycled. They consist of 30% elephant dung fiber and 70% recycled paper. No trees or toxic chemicals are used in their paper making process. They use only all-natural vegetative binding agents and water-soluble salt dyes for coloring. Mr. Ellie Pooh’s papers are handmade, acid-free, and as organic as possible!

😍 When our out of town customers share that they want to make sure Crossroads is a part of their visit, it warms our hearts. This trip included a beautiful nightlight with wildflowers. Crafted in Ecuador from reclaimed glass, this fair trade night light is both beautiful and ethically made.

😍 These are more out of town customers who were excited to find this 3 pack of olive oils. These Extra Hopeful, Extra Peaceful, and Extra Unified Olive Oils are produced by a female led non profit consisting of Arab and Jewish women who share a vision of peaceful coexistence. They work towards this goal side by side with skill, care, and a passion for the craft.

Join us for a colorful day in India — waking to a myna bird's song, sharing a meal of dal, and counting mango trees along the way, with Hindi words and pronunciation guides woven throughout. This story is part of the Barefoot Books Our World series, which introduces young readers to daily life and culture around the globe It's a warm, vivid glimpse into the everyday life of India, perfect for curious young readers (and the grown-ups who read along with them).

Have you seen the bags made from apples? 🍎 Made from apple leather, an innovative material created from the leftover pomace of apples used in the juice and cider industry, Dece bags are now at Crossroads!

Each bag is cut and sewn by artisans in small workshops in Romania, where the work supports a holistic development program that provides childcare, education support, scholarships, and community resources for families.

Happy Wednesday! It's been a little while since we've highlighted some of our amazing recent customer visits so let's kick off the second half of the week with some fun stories and product highlights! If you haven't popped into the store in a bit, perhaps you'll be inspired by something featured here 🥰

😍 This first-time out-of-town customer was so excited about this beautiful leather purse from Haiti. Even more exciting was knowing that her purchase would help make a difference by providing dignified employment to women in need of work. Our new brand, Deux Mains, is a sustainable luxury brand rooted in a powerful mission.

😍 More out of town customers were excited to find these balsa wood crayons from Ecuador. They had the perfect bird lover in mind with this purchase. Minga Fair Trade Imports seeks to improve the economic lives of small producers & strengthen relationships with their retail counterparts throughout the world.

😍 We love it when our regular customers share who we are with friends. Tea was this week's find, and Justea comes in 3 packs so you can try out new kinds of tea. JusTea offers the first and only farmer-direct tea from Kenya. They partner directly with small-scale tea farming families and communities to ensure that the farmers are paid a fair wage and that you get the freshest, most delicious tea possible.

😍 Thanks to our friends at Ecology Action Center for joining us this past Saturday for a Second Saturday Showcase. We hope customers (like these featured here) enjoyed learning more about their work and plan to check out upcoming events and volunteer opportunities!

We're excited to partner with Ecology Action Center this Saturday for our July Second Saturday Showcase. Meet the team dedicated to educating and advocating for a healthy environment. Learn how you can get more involved in local efforts to support this work. In celebration of their work, we will have 20% off all recycled sari products. Many of our fair trade brands take pride in reducing waste by taking old saris worn by women in India and giving them a new life.
