When you’re sick, everyone says “hydrate, hydrate, hydrate” and its not just something moms made up.

Your body loses fluids a lot faster than normal when you have a fever, or even just a runny nose. When your body raises the temp to fight infection, you lose water through sweating and breathing. You breathe faster when you have a fever, and warm air leaving your lungs carries moisture with it.

Water and electrolytes help regulate your temperature, keep your energy up, and thin mucous so it drains more easily. Water (most of what your blood is made of) is also what carries your immune cells through your body to find and fight infection.

I’ve spent the last 23 years working as an RN, and one of the greatest lessons I’ve learned is this: healing doesn’t stop at the doors of the clinic or hospital. The physical and emotional support we need most is often in the quiet, challenging days at home. That gap -between healthcare and home- is why I created Kit Well Co.

Once you get home, there’s no nurse at the other end of a call bell. If you’re a college student in a dorm room, there’s no parent checking in to see if you need anything. My hope was that with Kit Well I could bring the essence of nursing care to right to your doorstep.

Because having the things you need allows you to focus on feeling better.
