The Toccoa has been fishing great lately. We’ve been seeing plenty of top water action, a good mix of quality fish, numbers, and even putting together a few Grand Slams with rainbow, brown, and brook trout all in the same trip.

The river has cleared back up after the rain, and with these steady summer showers it’s been clearing up fast.

If you’ve been waiting for a good time to get on the water, this is it. Whether you need the flies that have been producing, a new setup, wet wading gear to beat the heat, or just want to know what’s been working, stop by the shop and we’ll get you pointed in the right direction.

And if you’d rather let us handle the fishing, we’d be glad to get you out on one of our guided trips!

A few more highlights from June!

June gave us plenty of healthy trout, great company, and some beautiful days on the water. We’re still catching up on sharing a few of our favorite memories from the month.

Sulfers finally started showing them selves a little better and we got some good hatches to fish. It wasn’t a blanket hatch but they were being consistent enough for us to dial them in.

June kicked off strong for the Toccoa River Outfitters & Fly Shop crew! While the Sulfur hatch wasn’t quite as heavy as we’d hoped early in the month, the trout were still looking up and eating them. We put plenty of fish in the boat and had a lot of happy anglers along the way.

The fishing is still going strong into July, and there’s no better time to get out on the water. If you’ve been thinking about booking a guided trip, give us a call. We’d love to get you on some fish!

Spring fishing is here!

March gave us some really nice days on the river and good fishing overall. Here are a few fish from the last couple weeks that never made it to the page.

April is right around the corner and this is one of our favorite times to be on the Toccoa. More bugs, active fish, and some really fun days ahead.

If you have been thinking about getting on the water, now is a good time to grab a date while we still have a few left for April and May.

Fresh shipment just hit the shop 👀

We just stocked up on some new Umpqua gear across the board. Fly boxes, tippet, leaders, packs and more.

The new “pink” Deceiver Fluoro is in and ready to be put to work. Designed to disappear quick. We have Big Game 12lb, 20lb and 40lb in stock. Also available in 4x, 5x, and 6x Tipper sizes to give anglers something new for their nymphing setups.

New sling, chest, and waist packs are here too. Dial in your setup and stay efficient on the water.

And a new line of fly boxes… from simple day boxes to full systems that’ll hold 1000+ flies. If organization has been lacking, this fixes it.

🪰 Black Caddis hatch is officially underway.

We started seeing the first bugs last week, and all signs point to the bigger waves rolling in any day now. If you’ve been waiting to time it right… this is it.

Fish are already looking up, and things are about to get really fun on the river.

We’ve got a few guided trip openings still open this week if you want to get out and experience the hatch firsthand. Give us a call or shoot us a message and let’s get you on the water.
