This past week, a guest at Blue Ridge Cotton Company from Fort Myers shared with us a harrowing story of survival for a family at her church. As the storm waters rose from Hurricane Ian, this family (Mom, Dad, 2 girls, and family dog) was forced to seek shelter in the attic of their home to escape the surge. They remained in their attic for over twenty four hours until help could reach them. The trauma of the storm coupled with the trauma of this near death experience has settled on the family and they are struggling. They lost all of their belongings and they escaped with only the clothes they were wearing.
We would like to shower this family with goodness in the form of clothing donations, toys/books for the girls, and gift cards. We will be accepting donations at BRCC until Saturday, November 5 and will then deliver the love gifts to the family.
