From tying one last-minute olive Backstabber to watching the fish creep out of its pipe at the perfect moment, the whole story came together in one unforgettable eat. Fly Report Friday!
This Friday we have Doug Rothenbush talking about the one and only EP Fibers

"A recent trip to Crystal River tested both patience and persistence. A stiff wind and temperatures dropping into the 40s made for tough conditions, and the redfish were clearly feeling it—sluggish, hesitant, and unwilling to chase.

After working through water that looked promising but produced little interest, I finally spotted a laid-up redfish in shallow water. The presentation had to be just right. I dropped a carefully tied Kwan fly a few feet ahead of the fish and gave it a subtle, lifelike movement.

That was all it took.

Despite the cold and otherwise inactive bite, this redfish couldn’t resist. A slow eat turned into a solid hookset and a rewarding fight—proof that even on the toughest days, the right fly, presented the right way, can make all the difference."

Come join us Wednesday the 10th for our Open Tying Night!

This month’s session will be focused on filling our boxes with beach flies. Bring your vise and materials, hang out with us, and load up your beach snook box for the upcoming season!

If you don’t tie, Darren will be tying his “Eat Me” pattern, and Captain Mike will be tying a ghost-style minnow pattern, so come hang out and watch!
