There are some things you can only understand by experiencing them for yourself.

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the man who trusts in Him.”

**Psalm 34:8**

David’s words are an invitation. Don’t only hear about God’s goodness from someone else. **Seek Him. Trust Him. Experience His faithfulness for yourself.**

For anyone walking through recovery, uncertainty, loss, or a season of rebuilding, trusting God does not mean every day will be easy. It means you have Someone greater than the circumstances walking with you through every one of them.

There will be moments when the road ahead doesn’t make sense. Moments when we can’t see where the next step will lead.

That is where trust becomes more than a word.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways acknowledge Him, and He will direct your path.”

Proverbs 3:5–6

We don’t have to understand every turn before we take the next step. When we place our trust in God, we can keep moving forward knowing He sees the road we cannot yet see.

“Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.”

Meaning
Peter is calling believers to remain spiritually awake, clear-minded, and prepared.
“Be alert” means pay attention to what is influencing your thoughts, choices, and faith.
“Be sober-minded” means stay disciplined and clear rather than being ruled by fear, anger, temptation, pride, or distraction.
“Your enemy the devil” identifies evil as active and opposed to God’s people.
“Like a roaring lion” pictures intimidation, danger, and a predator searching for weakness.
“Looking for someone to devour” points to the destruction of faith, peace, judgment, relationships, and spiritual stability.

Meaning
This verse teaches that a relationship with God begins with trust.
“Without faith it is impossible to please God” means outward religion alone is not enough. God desires genuine confidence in who He is.
“Anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists” means seeking God begins with believing He is real, present, and worthy of pursuit.
“And that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” means God responds to sincere, persistent faith. The reward is not always material gain, but often deeper relationship, wisdom, strength, guidance, and eternal life.
Central message
Faith is not merely believing that God exists. It is trusting His character enough to seek Him wholeheartedly.
Hebrews 11 shows that biblical faith moves:
