🐝🍯 SUNDAY HONEY BEE FACT: WINTER BEES ARE SPECIAL! 🍯🐝

As fall approaches, honey bee colonies begin producing longer-lived “winter bees.” While summer worker bees may live only about six weeks, winter bees can survive for several months, helping carry the colony through the colder season. 🐝❄️

🐝🍯 SUNDAY HONEY BEE FACT: WATCH FOR ROBBING! 🍯🐝

During late summer and early fall, fewer nectar sources can cause honey bees to rob honey from neighboring colonies—especially weaker hives.

Beekeepers can help by:

🐝 Keeping inspections brief
🍯 Covering exposed honey and frames
🧹 Cleaning spilled syrup immediately
🏠 Reducing entrances when appropriate while maintaining ventilation

These simple steps make it easier for guard bees to protect their colony.
