Good to know - update from Beech Mountain:

Just spoke to my parents on Beech Mountain. Someone has a phone working in satellite mode from what I gathered. They said it’s a war zone. Major damage obviously. National Guard can’t get up the road with but locals are working to repair the road so people can get off the mountain. Everyone is pulling together. Also, for anyone that is able to get through to anyone up there, if they have an iPhone 14 or newer, they can use their phone in satellite mode. Just go to control center, click the cellular button, then click satellite.

UPDATE: JUST GOT WORD THEY WERE FOUND SAFE!!!! They made it to Asheville but have had no cell service. PTL!!!!A friend h...

A friend has these loved ones missing. Those in my communities please keep an eye out for them. Cellular service is so spotty and no on many areas.
