🍯 HONEY BASKET GIVEAWAY 🐝

This honey themed basket is up for grabs in our giveaway this week! We sell raw honey that is harvested from our farm! It’s sweet, smooth, and delicious! And so good for you! Details on how to win this basket will be shared in our market info post on Thursday. Check back to find out how to enter!

Did you know that honey looks and tastes a bit different depending on the season? Here’s some info on spring vs fall honey. We’ve got both right now and you might want to get one of each to test out the differences for yourself!

1. Flower Sources
Bees collect nectar from flowers such as clover, dandelion, and fruit blossoms, and this produces a lighter, milder honey in the spring.
Nectar from later-blooming plants like goldenrod and asters lead to darker color.

2. Flavor
Spring brings delicate floral notes, and fall brings a bit more robust/complex flavors with a little more pronounced honey taste.

3. Crystallization
Spring honey may cause quicker crystallization. Honey never goes bad though, so a slow heating process will take it back to its original state. Glass jars make this process a little easier. We put ours in water and slowly heat to dissolve the sugars.
Fall honey may take less time to crystallize, but it can seem a coarser texture when it does.

4. Nutrition
Spring honey varies in pollen types, which gives a diverse profile of antioxidants and nutrients while fall honey can be richer in minerals and antioxidants due to the nectar sources. Of course, weather plays a big role in this as well!

Did you know that honey can vary so much? The color is what we notice more than anything else, but it’s fascinating to think about how the time of year impacts the production of honey!! 🍯 😋

Basket contains:
🧸Mini honey bear
🐝Bee themed notebook and pen
