We love it when students finish new projects. This is the first garment this sewist has made, having first taken the Intro with us and now finishing her pants. She wanted something she could wear to work and choose the Saguaro pattern from Friday pattern company and a Lady McElroy crepe in navy, both of which came from the shop. This would also look great in one of our new linen fabrics. Fantastic job! 💕

Sewchella! Inspired by the music festival Cochella, Just Make it Sew's summer sewing camp will be a fun andlearning experience for campers ages 8 to 16. All festivals have bands you wear as proof of your entrance, right? Pictured here are examples of bands our sewists will make as part of the start of each camp week. Each of our sewists have their own creative visions. Last week was a productive week for those in our Sew Your Style Class with three completed projects. The first being a pillow in a flower motif that has a bit of a challenge to it, the second is the sewists first t-shirt with floral print fabric and the last is a customized drawstring bag to hold a pair of roller blades. This teen has been a very busy sewist! Here she is sporting two items she recently finished. The floral print skirt in the first picture has a ruffle bottom -- so on trend for the season. Also, she likes cats and made this wallet that has a silhouette of a cat face on the outside and cat fabric on the inside. The wallet is complete with a zippered area and pockets for whatever she wants to carry. Fantactic job!

While on our Spring Vacation, we had the opportunity to visit these two exhibits at the Palais Galliera. The first exhibit presents the characteristics of women's fashion during the age of enlightenment and how it is interpreted today. The second exhibit is dedicated to the art of ornamentation which embellish and decorate clothing and accessories. The museum pays tribute to the creators of these skills, often overshadowed by prestigious designer names. Always a pleasure to visit this museum.
