☕ Coffee With Charlotte: Keeping It Real — Episode 7
Good morning, everyone! ❤️
First things first—TODAY kicks off our HUGE Summer Sale! 🔥 Up to 80% OFF, and y’all, a BIG part of the store is marked down!
Even our large selection of cropped jeans is on sale—and my teacher friends, you already know how much you LOVE these! 👖🙌
Okay... now let’s talk about my visit with Dr. Ifeanyi.
I told y’all I would come back and share what we found out, and I want to keep that promise because this whole series is about keeping it real—even when “real” isn't exactly what you were hoping to hear.
Before seeing Dr. Ifeanyi, I had a hearing test with the audiologist. The results showed significant hearing loss in my right ear, including loss of high-frequency sounds.
And here's the crazy part...
I had NO idea I had a hearing problem. 😂
Although my husband has apparently diagnosed me with selective hearing for years, so I'm sure he's feeling pretty validated right about now. 🤣
Because the hearing loss is on one side, they're doing more testing to make sure there isn't something causing it that can be treated. So the next step is an MRI, including ruling out the possibility of something like a tumor affecting the inner-ear/hearing nerve area.
Now, I'm not assuming that's what it is. We're just ruling things out, one step at a time.
So I called to schedule the MRI, and the sweet lady says:
"You'll need to meet your deductible, so you'll need to bring $675 with you."
😳
Oh. Okay.
LET ME JUST GET MY CHECKBOOK. LAWD!!! 😂😂😂
Nothing like a little
medical deductible to make you forget what you were worried about in the first place!
And between THAT and having to color my hair last night to cover my gray hair coming in, and finding out I need cataract surgery soon, I'm starting to feel like...
HOLD ON. I AM NOT THIS OLD!!! 🤣😂
I mean, hearing tests, MRIs, deductibles, and covering these roots... what is happening over here?! 😂
I'm feeling a little off balance this morning, but I'm hoping I just haven't had enough water yet. So today we're hydrating, having some coffee, having a little faith, and carrying on. ❤️☕️
I'll keep sharing this journey as I go—not because I have all the answers, because I absolutely don't—but because so many of you have reached out and told me that you have tinnitus too.
If sharing what I learn helps even one of you ask a question, make an appointment, or feel a little less alone in what you're experiencing, then sharing it is worth it.
And through all of this, let's trust God for all of our healing and all of our problems. ❤️🙏
He is able to heal us, and He is able to see us through every difficult season we face.
If He heals me, I will praise Him. And if He doesn't, I will STILL praise Him.
Because my faith isn't based on getting the answer I want. My faith is in Him.
So... Episode 7. Here we go.
Keeping it real, taking it one test at a time, laughing when I can...
and apparently bringing my lcheckbook. 🤣☕️❤️
Sincerely hoping every single one of you has a great day. Love y'all! ❤️
