Fishermen who own no more than one boat and are self-employed are eligible for the following offer :
Fishermen's Co-Op will pay for the air-freight, boxing, , custom clearance. FC will also help do the paperwork and arrange trucking to the airport in case both parties, FC and the fisherman, decide to ship tuna to Japan. All the transactions will be disclosed to the fishermen . So, if fishermen decide to ship tuna to Japan then he doesn't have to pay upfront for air-freight, packing , trucking etc. Fishermen's Co-Op will arrange everything and fisherman will pay it off after the tuna is sold out in Japan,
Our purpose is to achieve better pricing for Fishermen's catch. We are the only company in Boston area that also owns an LLC in Tokyo Japan. This helps us a lot in selling our products directly to wholesalers in Japan.
In September and October, 2020, more than 67 % of the fishermen were paid on the same day when they delivered BF Tuna to us. We are trying our best to pay more and more fishermen on the same day.

For better meat quality , we co-ordinate with fishermen and lend them different tools for fishing including sonars and fish finders. We also have educational material for fishermen on how to handle tuna on boat and better sustainable fishing methods. We provide them tools they need to check quality of meat. End of the day, what matters is better selling price and, of course, sustainability of our seafood.
