Tuesday! Usually a quiet day to get caught up and suddenly about an hour or so things started to turn to the better for those of us struggling with the problems of being a small business. While the orders kept coming in we've been dealing with a no show delivery and tough toenails response from the bank a naggy Check Engine light and prospects of a slow week. Then we answered the phone and a charming new customer needed a little help and we had a nice chat (mostly me telling boring wool stories) and commiserated about the fun times as a small business and that made us feel better even if things weren't much better (outside of taking an order) than before. So then we got another call from a West Coast dyer who has checking us out as some of our competitors seem to have gone by the wayside. We had a great time and we only had to wait a few minutes for that first AWESOME order... During that call the car repair shop called having solved my problem and the missing bale that seemed stuck forever got loaded and out for delivery. It might be after UPS but at least we can get things set up to catch up. It's amazing how you all know to order something when we're a little thin as we were starting to think we might have to order another bale given how many bumps sold in the past few days. Anyway, we're feeling a lot better here. Now if we can bring that relief and happiness to the folks we live with every day it will be a great week.
