Two bows heading to ! I started working on these two bows at the same time not knowing they will end up together. They are great match. (Sometimes things just work out great 😊) One is snaky longbow and one is pretty clean flatbow with this cool swirl right under the handle which makes both of them “character” bow.

Two sets of arrows. Since I make arrows with self nocks I add sinew wrapping waterproofed with shellac to prevent the nock from splitting. I never had that happen to Douglas fir arrows but I still do it as a insurance.

Roadkill bullsnake getting second life as bow backing.

This bow was rather unusual. It has arrowheads on the ends- not very practical but it is a ceremonial bow to be used on Little Bighorn battlefield for ceremony. Bowstring made out of leg sinew and beautiful arrowheads made by Martin . Last picture shows Wesley Blackelk test shooting it;-)
