Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe

Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe Innisfree was one of three poetry bookshops in the entire United States! Local and independent, our bookstore was a hub for Colorado's creative community.

Currently a virtual, temporal and spiritual space. The Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe in Boulder, Colorado on University Hill, was founded in 2010. As one of three exclusively-poetry bookstores in the United States, Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe creates and fosters a daily, living space for lovers of poetry, of all ages. Kate and Brian, the owners, met in graduate school in poet Lloyd Schwartz’ s Poetry Workshop and have carried their love of poetry with them into this space. They hope that the store allows poets and lovers of poetry to gather formally and informally in order to promote the discovery that writing and reading poetry brings forth. The Innisfree Poetry Bookstore & Cafe has poetry books for readers of all ages. The store also proudly carries Conscious Coffees, the award winning Boulder-based coffee roaster dedicated to the pursuit of Fair Trade and Organic coffee all over the world.

Georgia Nott Coming to Boulder.....October 4th

The solo project of Broods' Georgia Nott, Georgia Gets By puts an intimate, ruminative spin on lush, more folk-influenced electronic and dream pop. Her first EP under the moniker, Fish Bird Baby Boy, saw release in 2023.

After a decade of making music with her brother, Caleb Nott, as they navigated moody, collaborative electro-pop as Broods -- landing on the Billboard 200 and topping the album chart in their native New Zealand in the process -- Georgia was ready to present material she'd been developing for years in spare moments on her own. As Broods wrapped up promotion and festival appearances for their fourth album, 2022's Space Island, in late 2023, Luminelle Recordings delivered Georgia Gets By's debut EP, Fish Bird Baby Boy, that October. It consisted of more personal, guitar-driven songs that favored lush dream pop over the percussive electro-pop of her band, while not completely diverging from it.

Maria Taylor in Boulder, September 20th. Tiny Concert.
Story’s End.

Story’s End unfolds like a hazy, cinematic narrative—songs acting as chapters that trace love, loss, fracture, and the quiet search for solace in the aftermath. Written over several years and shaped by profound personal upheaval, the record finds Taylor expanding the signature elements of her work—bell-like piano, sweeping strings, and intimate lyricism—into something more nuanced and life-affirming. Recorded between her California home studio and ARC Studios in Omaha, Story’s End features collaborations with Mike Mogis, Ben Brodin, Brad Armstrong, Conor Oberst, Nate Walcott, and others, and culminates in a fragile sense of transformation and hope.

“Before I die, I want to be somebody’s favorite hiding place, the place they can put everything they know they need to survive, every secret, every solitude, every nervous prayer, and be absolutely certain I will keep it safe. I will keep it safe.”

We welcome home Tim Hernandez tomorrow night Wednesday October 16th at 7PM at Trident Booksellers and Cafe on Pearl Street. Please join us on Pearl Street for a conversation with Tim, who walked these streets and drank this town's coffee and further built his literary career here, humbly, amongst us. We were always honored to have him read Ernesto Cardenal's translations when Ernesto came by to read. See you 10/16 7PM!
