You may already be aware, but our shop mate Matt lost his home in the Marshall Fire last week. A GoFundMe was created for Matt by a close friend of his and a link to it is attached below.

We want to thank everyone for reaching out to us with your concerns for Matt. It means a great deal to him and is very comforting. Our hearts go out to all of those affected in our community.

Hi, my name is Gabriel Perry and I'm fundraising for my dear friend, Matt Bergdorf of Boulder… Gabriel Perry needs your support for Matt Bergdorf Fire Relief

Here’s a video we shot for a customer who was concerned about stripping the neck bolt holes after disassembling his original ‘64 Strat when traveling.

Hey everybody, we hope your week is going well so far, given the current state of affairs!

Here is some footage of the process involved in making a replacement bone saddle for an older Gibson J-50 with the original adjustable bridge.

We love using glass microscope slides for scraping different types of glues and finishes. This shot is of some glue being scraped flush after repairing a small crack in the peghead of this Preston Thompson.

😄

Another week down, the team here at Woodsong’s is hoping all of you are staying safe and sound through these trying times.

Same separation knife as yesterday’s post, but here it’s being used to remove the bridge on a ‘30s Sears, Roebuck & Co. Gene Autry Round-up.

Here’s a shot of a pickguard removal on a ‘72 000-18. These old celluloid guards sure can shrink over the years and having been glued to the bare wood, they often form cracks in the top.

COVID-19 Update: 3/25/20

Dear Woodsong’s Lutherie Family and Friends,

Our shop will be following the City of Boulder order to “Stay at Home” and as of today, March 25th, we will be closed to walk in business, through April 10th. Our team is following closely with local officials to update this page and our availability as the city permits.

We will continue to maintain communication with those of you that have instruments here already or are looking to have work performed in the future via access to voicemails and emails through this closure.

For those of you with instruments here in the shop now, rest assured they are safe and sound, and we will continue to communicate with you regarding the progress of the work, as we maintain minimum basic operations, per the City of Boulders directives.

Thank you again for your understanding. Please support your local businesses and musicians in any way you can.

Thank you,

Dear Woodsong’s Lutherie Family and Friends,

After much consideration, we have decided to temporarily close our repair shop to walk-in business effective Monday, March 16. However, we will be offering curbside drop-off and pick-up services during our regular business hours (Please see details below). We feel that the health and safety of our customers and luthiers may be at risk if we continue "business as usual" during the COVID-19 national emergency. We also feel a duty to the wider Boulder/Denver and beyond community to help mitigate the spread of the virus.

Phone and email correspondence will still be available during our standard hours.

We will still be here and will continue to service our customers to the best of our ability by offering Curbside Pickup. If you have a completed repair that is ready for pickup, give us a call when you’re in the parking lot and we'll manage payment over the phone and bring your instrument out to the curb. We will still be accepting repairs as well, just call the shop first and we can arrange to pick your instrument up from you at our curb. Upon receiving the instrument, we will have it sit in a holding space for 3 days before we then open the case and call you with an evaluation.

Thank you again for your understanding. Please support your local businesses and musicians in any way you can. They all need your help right now.

Thank you,

The Woodsong’s Lutherie family
