Today, we celebrate freedom.
We celebrate the stories that survived.
The stories that were passed down.
The stories that helped us remember who we are.
Because before history was taught, it was told.
Before culture was documented, it was lived.
And before our stories were preserved in books, they were carried by people.
At Book Mecca, we’ve always believed that books change lives.
But we’ve also come to believe something else:
💜 Reading is connective and affirming.
It allows us to engage with ideas, history, culture, and each other in ways that spoken words alone sometimes cannot. Through reading, we imagine, reflect, question, and discover.
That’s why today, on Juneteenth, we’re excited to announce something new.
✨ The Margin by Book Mecca ✨
A new community centered on Black books, meaningful conversation, and connection.
🫶🏻 Not just for avid readers.
For people who want to start reading.
For people who want to get back into reading.
For people who believe stories can bring us closer together.
Because the story doesn’t end on the page.
The best conversations happen in the margins.
