Today I'm taking a break from recommending an album because I wanted to check in with all of you.

We've grown to 97 members, and I just want to say thank you for being part of KornDog Records. Whether you've been here since the beginning or just joined recently, I appreciate every one of you.

After months of late nights, learning as I went, rebuilding things from the ground up, and probably drinking way too much tea...

My cousin took me to this tour with Motley Crue and at 10 yrs old it was the greatest experience of my life to that point 🤘🏻

This is the kind of piece that makes you stop and admire it before the needle even drops.
Then you spin it anyway, because records were made to live.

🎶 Vinyl Therapy Wednesday 💚💜

This little record player is where it all started.
My parents got it for me when I was a kid, and I found a stack of old 45s. For whatever reason, "Sad Eyes" by Robert John became my song. I'd play it, flip it over, and play it again.

As the years went by, the music industry kept moving.
Records became tapes.
Tapes became CDs.
CDs became downloads.
Downloads became streaming.
Like most people, I followed along because that's where the music went.

But somewhere along the way, I realized I hadn't stopped loving music...
I'd just drifted away from the way I first fell in love with it.
Over 40 years later, I found my way back to vinyl.
And I didn't just rediscover records.
I rediscovered the experience.

Pulling an album from its sleeve.
Looking at the artwork.
Reading the liner notes.
Dropping the needle.
Sitting down and giving the music my full attention.

That's why I call it Vinyl Therapy.
Not because vinyl is the only way to enjoy music.
But because it brought me back to myself.
Looking back, I don't think I found vinyl again...
I found that little kid sitting in front of this record player.
And honestly...
That was the therapy I didn't know I needed.

Artist: Saint Vice
Song: Drowning
Mood: Dark • Atmospheric • Late Night • Emotional

Zombie Kitty dug up another one.
Some songs hit you immediately.
Others slowly wrap around you until you realize you've had them on repeat for an hour.

"Drowning" is one of those tracks for me. It's moody, textured, and exactly the kind of hidden gem I love finding.

🐰 KornDog Rabbit Hole

What's a song you've heard a hundred times... then one day you noticed something that had always been there?

Maybe it was a hidden harmony. A drum fill. A bass line. A lyric that suddenly made sense.

Mine was hearing an extra harmonic bloom when Vessel bends a guitar note. I'd listened to it plenty of times before, but one day my ears locked onto it and I couldn't unhear it.

Music doesn't change. We do.

Every now and then, a song sneaks into your playlist and refuses to leave.

Today's crate dig is "A Crooked Melody" by Holding Absence.

The first thing that grabbed me wasn't a breakdown or a huge chorus.
It was the emotion.

The kind that quietly builds until you realize you've stopped doing whatever you were doing and you're just... listening.
