Sunrise to sunset today. Picked away at Blackfins and Bonita. The awesome wahoo bite that has been going on has not been going so well for me. Did see multiple wahoo in boats in Boca today.

Nice morning out of Boca today. Lots of small dolphin hanging around the w**d patches off shore. Put a Skippy on ice and the radio was reporting more them being caught by others as well. Couple of Snapper in 60ft south of the inlet. Mullet weren't around in shore this morning. They were out in 60ft just passed the masses of jelly fish being harassed.

It's been too long since the last trip. Half day trip before work this morning with a couple of buddies. Got to the Boca ramp around 6am and had a couple dozen mullet in the live well by the time the crew showed up at 6:30 as scheduled. Went deep looking for Mahi. First w**d line in 540 produced 3 short mahi quickly so we continued east. Continued east and picked up another short off of an inflatable kiddy pool floating around.

The sea conditions in close were nice. Small seas and comfortable. The Gulf stream git the reports from the weather man and it was indeed a solid 6ft swell moving through spread out. Very fishable and never felt unsafe in what we were doing. We turned back somewhere around 10 miles out and blind trolled back towards the dock. Found a solid w**d patch in 600ft that was holding plenty of fish. Took a while but we put 3 keepers in the cooler up to 10 lbs. There were plenty more but they were picky. Trolled ballyhoo was preferred at first then they would sniff at the live mullet. Left with plenty of fish still around.

Threw some live mullet at the tarpon in the inlet on the way back but no takers. Was fun to watch them busting on the mullet though. Back at the dock at 12:30.

Haven't been in the salt water recently. Mixed things up to hunt down a couple of alligators to fill some tags. We ended up getting a couple of nice gators out of Lake Ochechobee. One went 11' 1" and the second went 12" on the dot.

Now I can get back to the dolphin bite going on that I keep hearing about.

Dolphin are out deep if you burn the gas to get there. 18 miles from the Boynton inlet today before I hauled back to the inlet trying to beat the thunderstorms. I didn't make it a ducked in palm beach inlet today. Kept two fins threw several more. No size to them today but they are out there.

It's a little bumpier than I was hoping today but going to give it a shot anyways.

Fished Thursday morning out if Boca still looking for a wahoo. One Cuda on the HST. Ran deep and fished around some birds but no luck. Couple of amberjacks on a wreck before heading to the dock by 11am.

Friday evening was a frustrating trip. One Cuda early to start. Was working the Bonita schools in 100-120ft. Yozuri Bonita got whacked again and a blue/white islander with a strip got slammed hard with intention of stopping. 30 seconds in the hook pulled. There are fish around but luck has not been on my side.

Not bad for a first fish on your first time on a boat. Straight out from the Boca inlet in about 60ft of water. Only got about an hour of fishing time in before the rain chased us back to the dock.
