We’re fans of under-promising and over-delivering…. But this weekend looks PRIME.

Cool temps and heavy clouds are bringing all the right elements for some excellent fall fishing. Pick your favorite weapon of choice as the streamer bite should turn up a notch (or three), blue wings are poised to pop, and nymphing will continue to get it done.

From here on till winter, we’ll be hoping for heavy cloud cover and the occasional shower because good things tend to follow.

Short of practicing, a new fly line might be the easiest way to improve your casting, especially when it counts the most.

The right line helps load your rod more efficiently, turn over a fly with authority, and make quick, accurate shots when an opportunity presents itself. And if the line currently on your reel has spent a few seasons baking on the bow of a panga or getting dragged behind you on a DIY session for bones, the difference can be pretty dramatic.

Not all saltwater lines are built for the same job, though. Here are a few of our favorites when it comes time to head to the tropics!

The upcoming Montana Stream Access Rally isn’t about combating any single bill or addressing one landowner’s desire to privatize water.
