Two years ago, I started Poison Ivy with some extra flowers from my garden, a love for creating, and absolutely no idea what it would become.

But the date I chose to start it wasn’t random.

Poison Ivy was born on the anniversary of my last endometriosis surgery. After spending more than a decade with a disease that controlled so much of my life, I wanted that date to represent something different—growth instead of pain. 🌱

What started with things I grew from seed and made with my own hands has slowly grown into soaps, flowers, lavender sachets, pop-ups, local shops, custom collections, community events, and more ideas than I have time for. 😂

And somehow, the girl who originally said “I don’t plan on carrying inventory” now has an actual small business. 🤦‍♀️

The best part is that the heart of Poison Ivy hasn’t changed. I still grow my flowers from seed. I still make things with my own hands. And I still get to share something I genuinely love with my community.

So today I’m celebrating two years of Poison Ivy and another year of getting to reclaim a date that once meant something completely different to me. 🤎

Some people leave a legacy that continues to change lives long after they’re gone. 💚

This summer, Poison Ivy was honored to volunteer on a hole at the Brian Eekhoff Memorial Golf Tournament.

Brian is the reason the owner of Poison Ivy fell in love with the game of golf, making this event especially meaningful. He had an incredible gift for connecting with people, especially children. Whether he was teaching golf, coaching basketball, leading youth group, spending time on the river, or at the shooting range, Brian’s kindness, encouragement, and infectious personality touched countless lives.

We know Brian would have loved the golf-inspired soaps and lavender sachets we created as tournament prizes. It was a privilege to contribute in a small way to an event that carries on such an impactful legacy.

The Brian Henry Eekhoff Youth Development Fund was created to honor Brian by supporting children both locally and internationally, and all proceeds from the tournament help continue that mission.

Thank you to everyone who participated, volunteered, and supported this incredible event. It was an honor to be part of a day that celebrates generosity, community, and investing in future generations.
