Employee Spotlight: Kyle Kirk
Meet Kyle Kirk, our Technology Project Manager at United Electric!
Kyle has been with United Electric since December 2021, but his experience with low voltage equipment goes back much further. In fact, he says he has been working on and with low voltage equipment since he was old enough to hold a screwdriver. His parents even had to make a rule that he was not allowed to take things apart!
Officially, Kyle has been working with low voltage equipment since 2008, and his experience is anything but ordinary. Over the years, he has worked on everything from missile guidance systems and antennas on the International Space Station to gaming consoles and televisions.
What Kyle enjoys most about being part of United Electric is working with people who care about the quality of their work and truly strive to make customers happy.
For Kyle, the technology department is especially rewarding. Whether it’s creating lighting scenes, designing home automations that make everyday life easier, or setting up home theaters, he says it often feels like the technology team gets to put the finishing touches on everyone else’s hard work.
“We still have to pull wire and dig trenches,” Kyle says, “but we also get to create art at the end of the job. It’s addicting!”
His advice for someone starting in the field? Take every training course you can get your hands on. The more products you know how to work with, the better.
Outside of work, Kyle enjoys gardening, shooting, and barefoot hiking with his wife.
And here’s a fun fact: if Kyle sees a part or component once, he remembers what it is and exactly where it belongs. According to his wife, there is nothing he cannot take apart and rebuild.
We’re grateful to have Kyle’s skill, creativity, and technical expertise as part of the United Electric team!
