We had a change in our vacation plans. Hence, we are here at the Painted Post Farmers' Market. We got flowers and plants including some potted blueberries. Plus, some of the fruit that Ort Family Farm offers. Please stop by and see all of us here at the market.

We have had a change in plans and will be back at the Corning Farmers Market tomorrow!

This week we will have some babies of our red orchid cactus (Epiphyllum ackermannii). We also will have some Ohio Treasure everbearing black raspberry plants. Plus, small potted herbs like basils (Genovese and Tulsi), cilantro, English thymes, French tarragon, rosemary, scented geraniums (Citronella and Rose), winter savory and more.

There will also be an assortment of large potted herbs as well as some of the last fresh bouquets from the garden.

Please be sure to stop on by and check all of these things out and more at the market tomorrow.

Are you looking for some hardy and low maintenance fruiting plants?

If so, have you thought of including American elderberries or black currants into your landscapes?

Both produce tart black fruit that can be used to make juice, preserves and syrups. The flowers on the elderberries can be used in tea and deep fried. Plus, the leaves of the black currants can be used in tea.

Also, both plants can be grown in full sun to part shade as well as like moist, rich soils.

We have 11 different varieties of black currants and 8 different strains/varieties of American elderberries available for fall planting. 🍂

Perennial Onions 🧅

We have 2 types of perennial onions available for fall planting.

Egyptian Walking (Allium x proliferum) - H: 24-36 inches, W: N/A, Sun: Full to part, Zone: 3-9, Description: Green/blue tubular stalks that produce bulbs on the bottom and top. Uses: Can be used like green onions and shallots. Note: Top bulbs eventually become too heavy for the stalks and fall to the ground and will root in to form an extension of the plant. Hence, the term “walking onions.”

Welsh Onions (Allium fistulosum) - H: 1-3 ft, W: 8 to 12 inches, Sun: Full, Zone: 5-9, Description: Green/blue tubular stalks with white bulbs. Uses: Can be used like green onions in recipes. Note: This plant is perennial and from Asia.

Blueberry plants are back in stock! 🫐🎉

Just in time for fall planting! We have plants of Blue Jay, Bonus, Duke, Herbert, Nelson, Polaris, St. Cloud, Sunrise and Toro varieties.

Good Morning Folks!

We are getting all loaded up for the Painted Post Farmers' Market today! It's our last week we will be at the market here in September. We will be taking a short break and returning to the market Saturday October 3rd.

Today we will have flowers, wreaths, potted herb plants, elderberry & fig plants, and a few boxes of fresh figs from the greenhouses!

We also will have a few blackberries (Ort Family Farm). Plus, we will have some of their leftover plums, pears, nectarines and peaches.

Be sure to stop down early and snag some of our stuff while supplies last!
