7,000 square feet of iconic main street retail space
This enchanted holiday market is giving evergreens, string lights, and you can even find a little sweet treat most weekends. Brattleboro Festival of Miniatures AND a market resplendent with handmade goods?! Pshhhh, this is going to be good!

The Downtown Brattleboro Alliance and Brattleboro Flea are transforming 74 Main Street (former home of Sam’s Outdoor Outfitters) into a showcase of handmade goods, gifts, and seasonal treats- part of the townwide push to bring vacant spaces back to life.

LOCAL BOOTH GRANT
To make participation more accessible for local makers, we’re offering a limited number of Local Booth Grants. These are intended for makers who live in Brattleboro or a neighboring town and for whom the vendor fee is a financial barrier to participation. To apply, fill out the vendor application.

This holiday season is going to be *next level here in Brattleboro. The Festival of Miniatures returns for what promises to be an even more outrageous event. Market on Main will once again be lighting up 7,000 sq ft on Main Street with the best of the best Makers and Artists. And now, YOU can be part of the action!

Vacant to Vibrant is a grant program, offering financial support to pop-ups in our downtown vacancies this holiday season. Rents for these spaces will be free or greatly reduced. Grants will be given to support projects. This is all part of a coordinated initiative to activate Main Street and make Downtown Brattleboro truly THE place to be for holiday shopping.

UMass Amherst seniors, 27 of them, took to the streets for a Downtown walkabout yesterday with their professors, DBA, and Town Planner Sue Fillion. This connection and project sprang forward thanks to Next Gen Brattleboro, an economic development initiative with strengthening Brattleboro’s economy, and recruiting the next generation of residents, businesses, and infrastructure in mind.

The directive was clear- get the lay of the land as the foundation for some seriously blue sky ideation around what might be possible, necessary, and transformative in our Downtown Center. Erin & Kate of DBA plus board member Matt Banks, and Sue Fillion led the students block by block directing their gaze towards some of our most potential-packed spots. From the Waterfront down the Whetstone Corridor, through Harmony Lot, the bones of our Downtown are beautiful in a lot of ways. These students represent the schools of Business, Landscape Architecture, Urban Design, and plan to spend their Fall semester examining development strategies and proposals for targeted locations and corridors.

Welcome Students and Teachers! You can find them in Harmony Lot during October’s Bratt First Friday & Gallery Walk. They’ll be in town a fair amount during various stages this Fall Semester. Exciting!

Our Executive Director Kate takes to the airwaves to talk all things Vacant to Vibrant- an investment of 20k towards installing pop-ups in our downtown vacancies this holiday season. V2V gives entrepreneurs a runway to pilot their concept, and follow their dream. And fills our downtown with novel options for visitors and locals alike. That’s what we a call a win-win!

Mocha Joe’s Cafe is the Main Street coffee move. This partially subterranean cafe is where the locals gather to cuppa, work, chat, commune, and chill. The roasts are undeniably distinct, and the rotating baked goods are supremely delicious. Their signature scones? Get right out of here- the most perfect texture. Witchcraft!
