Hi everyone,
Now that the future is a little clearer we wanted to make a couple of announcements.
As some know by now, Michael passed away a couple of months ago. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, and presence in downtown Brattleboro. We’ve appreciated the outpouring of condolences and pleasant memories from our customers and friends, and will continue to appreciate kind words and respects paid to a man whose love of books and Brattleboro touched countless lives in the 27 years he ran the bookstore.

The bookstore will continue on under the ownership of Michael and Ellen’s daughter, Sarah, whose face many of you are likely already familiar with. Having grown up in bookstores from a very young age and carrying a love of books her whole life, she is well equipped to carry on the legacy of the store into its second generation.

And, we are moving! After 37 years we have been asked to vacate our current location at 36 Elliot, and have been welcomed into the Hooker-Dunham Block on Main Street with open arms. We will be open and operating on Elliot Street through Labor Day (9/1), after which we will shut down for a few weeks to shift over to the new location.
Our new home will be 141 Main Street, right between the Shoe Tree and the new Beadniks location. We can’t wait to see you all over there!
Thank you for your support all of these years, we are forever thankful to be a part of such a book-loving community, and grateful to continue to serve this very special area.
