Rigid Heddle weaving is about as close to instant gratification as weaving gets, and is a great way to learn the basics. Fair warning: there's math involved. But unlike in school, you get to use a calculator and have a cheat sheet to help.

There are two spots left in this weekend's rigid heddle workshop. Saturday is all about learning the method and setting up the loom. Sunday is all about weaving.

I have several classes coming up that are all about sewing gifts to give (to loved ones or yourself). This project bag is one of them - the class is October 17.

I’ve used this project bag for several years now, and love it. It’s roomy enough for a sweater, has as many internal pockets as you want, and has a carrying handle. Depending on your fabric choices, it can be super rugged or more delicate.

I’ve been eagerly waiting for Suri Seda alpaca/silk yarn from Cascade Yarns to arrive, and here it is! This is a great option if you, like me, cannot wear mohair but want that delightful halo you get from mohair/silk yarns.

We have one skein in each of 15 colors for now, until I get a feel for which colors you all want. But with over 400 yards per skein, there are a lot of things you can do with just one. And of course I’m happy to order colors for you.

I’m trying very hard not to cast something on right this minute…..
