They were created in 1949 by a Swedish engineer named Curt Lindquist. He realized that a mixture of natural cellulose and cotton could absorb an incredible 15x its own weight! Best of all, he revolutionized the way of cleaning by introducing a new tool that would reduce waste.

Beyond simply not breaking down in the trash heap, most disposable products are heavily reliant on fossil-fuels and petroleum – greatly speeding up the damage and impact we have on climate change and environmental health.

It is true - our favourite earthly place is rapidly filling up with plastic. Our sea animals are suffering in silence, we must be their voice! After all, it is our home too. 🌈
