It's been brought to my attention someone has been advertising figure skate sharpening with a Sparx portable machine. That would be a fast route to ruining your blades. If you don't want to take my word for it contact me privately and I will share first hand experience on the matter from some of the the best figure skate sharpeners in other markets in the US and Canada. The Sparx unit is meant for hockey blades. It does not do well factoring in the toe pick, primary and secondary rockers and the straight heel of a figure skate. It is especially not designed to handle JW/MK Revolution, Pheonix, Matrix, Paramount and other non parallel blades. It's not worth ruining your blades for a slight convenience. Figure skate sharpening is best left to a professional that has done tens of thousands of blades.
