We sang, we danced, we learned, we cried, we felt inspired, we felt rejuvenated, we felt challenged, and we felt motivated. We left ready to live our literacy mission, partner with our communities, put more books into kids' hands, and change the world one book at a time.
PaperPie is more about the books y'all, it's about people... it's about fostering connection between parents and children, kids and families. It's about kids learning to regulate their emotions by seeing themselves in books and learning empathy by seeing those who are different than them. It's about getting kids off screens and back to books which increases cognitive functions and reduces anxiety. It's about generosity and facing our nation’s literacy crisis head-on.
The PaperPie Summit was fun and fulfilling as always. Whether you want to be a Literacy Advocate like me, fill your bookshelves while saving money, or contribute to important causes - how can you be part of our literacy mission today?
We also had SO much fun with the incredible author/illustrator who brought abundant energy and enthusiasm to our time in Salt Lake City. Thank you for the best time !
