NEW HAND DRUMMING CLASS SESSIONS BEGIN IN MAY 2026
New classes commence in May for all levels. I instruct on Monday evenings at 7pm at our residence in Briarcliff. Please text me for directions and to register. This is an all-level class catering to beginners through intermediate students. I also teach on Tuesdays from 7:30pm-8:30pm in Dripping Springs at the Band-aid School of Music, a new and excellent institution. This is a great all-level class. Additionally, I instruct an all-women's class, the 'Drumsistas,' on Wednesdays in NW Austin on Greenslope off Steck from 4:30-5:30pm, and also from 7pm-8pm in South Austin on Hether Street off Bluebonnet in a lovely private residence. These classes are enjoyable and suitable for all. To obtain the class schedule, addresses for our locations, and to register, please call. The classes are conducted in six-week sessions, with the new session commencing on Tuesday, May 12. The Wednesday 4:30pm classes will begin a new session on May 19. The Wednesday night South Austin classes will commence their new session this Wednesday, May 6, at 7pm on Hether Street in South Austin. Please join us as we learn West African rhythms on djembes and djunduns, the large bass drums played with sticks. I have drums available for use during classes if you do not yet possess your own. Furthermore, I have drums for sale. Having operated my store, DRUMZ, A World Percussion Paradise, for twenty years on Kerbey Lane, I have established connections with exceptional sources for top-of-the-line drums, as well as student starter drums, and I continue to maintain these connections.
