We’re thrilled to welcome back Stephanie Brown-Beamer of Horse By Horse for Bit & Bridle Fittings at Sprieser Sporthorse on June 24, with a possible second day on June 25 if there is enough interest.

Stephanie is an FEI dressage rider, L graduate, and certified bit and bridle fitting specialist trained by Neue Schule and certified by Lantra in the UK. She has worked with everyone from lower-level riders to Olympians, helping horses and riders find equipment that supports comfort, communication, and performance.

Participants will have Stephanie evaluate their horse both untacked and under saddle, then test ride a selection of bits suited to their horse’s unique conformation and needs. Please come ready to ride and indicate whether you are interested in snaffle bits, double bridle bits, or both.

Your horse’s comfort is paramount. Choosing equipment that allows you to be both compassionate and effective can improve your training, your scores, and your partnership! 💯

Interested in getting a group of your clients, students, or friends together for a Bit Fitting Clinic?

Horse By Horse Bit Fitting clinics provide a totally unique opportunity to try a wide variety of bits in a one hour session. The full day is 8 hours. Snaffle sessions take 1 hour and double bridle sessions take at least 2 hours.

The day runs like a standard private session riding clinic and auditors are encouraged to learn by watching the individual sessions.

We work with all levels of horses and riders and have fit some of the top horses in the country. We often see some very dramatic changes in how horses go and sometimes the changes are subtle but important.

Our Horse By Horse Bit Specialist will have a variety of snaffle and double bridle bits for clinic participants to try during their sessions. They will measure the horse's mouth and look at the shape and overall anatomy of the mouth to help determine the best type of bit for the horse. The goal is to find the bit that the horse is the most comfortable in and the horse demonstrates this pretty clearly.
