This wood shading technique is from the 1600’s

scorching wood in hot sand to create a gradient before inlaying into a rosette. Full video is up on YouTube (link in bio) for you to follow the build process.

Two halves of Hawaiian koa, one back plate. Thicknessing, working around a knot in the grain, and joining it all into one clean piece before it becomes part of the guitar. 🎸
