Parachute Adams fly. Many tyers now use synthetic dubbing for the body, but this is tied using the traditional muskrat fur dubbing.

Generic Parachute dry fly. Parachute flies have the hackle wrapped around a vertical post rather than around the hook shank. This tying method allows the fly to set flat and lower in the water, thus presenting a bigger target image for fish. The vertical post also provides better visibility of the fly to the fisher, different colors for matching fly species and/or light conditions on the water.

Hook: Mustad 94840, size 12
Thread: Veevus E12 - Tan 8/0
Tail: Brown and grizzly hackle fibers
Body: Lemon Yellow Polyester dubbing
Ribbing: Fine green wire
Post: Neon orange polyester yarn
Hackle: 1 each grizzly and brown
