The Saltwash chippy finish, step by step:
1️⃣ Start with a terracotta or rust-toned base coat and let it dry completely. This is what peeks through later, so don’t skip it.
2️⃣ Once dry, brush on Saltwash in your top color (we’re loving this weathered sage green) in loose, uneven strokes. Let it dry fully too, don’t rush this step.
3️⃣ Grab sandpaper or a scraper and start distressing. Focus on high-touch areas like handles, rims, and edges where real wear would happen over time. Sand through in some spots to reveal that base coat underneath.
4️⃣ Wipe away dust, then seal to protect that texture for years of daily use.
The beauty of Saltwash is that no two pieces turn out the same. Every crack, lift, and layer tells its own story.
