The Garden at Pinehurst Farm

This past week we’ve been refreshing the space and getting ready for the season change.

Fall items are out, mums are here, and we finally gave the greenhouse its summer cleanup. We pretty much avoid being in here during July and August, but it’s starting to feel pleasant again.

We decluttered, condensed, cut down the sunflowers, and got the drying racks out for seed saving and foraged wreath materials.

Looking at the space before leaving this afternoon felt so satisfying, I didn’t want to leave.

We’re hosting two private garden experiences this weekend, and I’m so excited for them to be able to use the refreshed space.

Next Friday, September 25, we have Plant Bingo. If the weather calls for it, we may set it up in the greenhouse under the string lights, which honestly sounds pretty beautiful.

Seats are limited. Come play 6 rounds of bingo with plant-themed prizes. Everyone will make a beautiful bouquet with Pinehurst-grown flowers. Feel free to bring snacks and drinks and make a night of it.

Reminds us of our own 2 barn cats Cruella and Jefar! ❤️🐾❤️

Our beautiful Blaze has received no interest, and we truly don’t understand why. She wears her heart right on her fur! 🥰🐾

Blaze is a sassy little girl with a big personality, but when she chooses you, she is as loving and loyal as they come. She’s patiently waiting for someone to see how special she is and give her the forever home she deserves. ❤️

My problems seem to dissipate when I’m creating.

Honored to create these centerpieces for a friend I first met as a customer when I started Pinehurst. One of my favorite parts of this little business is how people become part of the story.

September in our gardens has been beautiful.

Monarchs, bees, stick bugs, and beautiful blooms everywhere you look. The garden beds are still thriving, and this really is one of the prettiest times of year at Pinehurst.

Thank you for all the well wishes for Coal. Our handsome pup is feeling so much better.

Honestly, I didn’t realize how sick he had been until he started acting like himself again and I thought, “Wait… he hasn’t hu**ed the garden hose in a while.” Ahahaha.

He’s still hanging at home for now so I can keep an eye on him, and also because the mums have arrived and Coal can take out a mum display in about two seconds flat.

But when the sun came out this afternoon, we went outside and started picking up nuts in the backyard. And of course my first thought was, these would be beautiful cleaned, dried, and tucked into our holiday wreath workshops.

I’m always looking around outside, wherever I find myself, thinking about what can be saved, dried, foraged, and turned into something beautiful. A little nature, a little chaos, and a whole lot of holiday wreath planning.

Ran out of coffee at home, so I treated myself and stopped at bhive.coffee in Burlington on my way to the shop.

Now it’s time to create.

Fresh coffee, fresh flowers, and a greenhouse full of color. Good morning from Pinehurst.

Our garden beds are still thriving, and honestly, it’s the best time of year at Pinehurst.

Fresh cut flowers are ready to be arranged for tomorrow morning’s custom order, and what a beautiful day we had here. Lots of mums and fall favorites arrived, and the farm is starting to feel like fall in the best way.

Walking through the greenhouse today made me realize I might actually need those Meta glasses.

Harvesting celosia and grasses for wreath workshops, then finding this little stick bug perfectly hidden outside the greenhouse.
