A big thank you to everyone who came out to Cherokee National Holiday this past weekend and visited my tent and supported my art. I sold so many pieces that I'm having to hurry to make more for Chalk It Up/ Broken Arrow Rose Festival this upcoming Friday evening and Saturday. A good problem to have. Hope to see you there.

I know our pets can't stay with us near as long as we would like, but I wanted to make something that would be specific for each pet. I encapsulated one of my dogs fur into this paw. My other two dogs will be forthcoming, while they are still with me.

Snails are what's on my mind. Not only are they one of nature's recyclers but they are just so darn cute. I decided to make these with vintage china. So if you need a small gift to make someone's day, I've made these into stakes, pot hangers, fridge magnets or just hanging. This is one of my earlier pieces that I'm thinking of making again. I retired from law enforcement where I spent 31 of my 43 years as an SVU investigator. This piece is a reminder of the survivors. Some survivors screamed for justice while others sought justice in their own way. What I know is that justice is different for each survivor. Some received justice but most did not. This is my tribute to them.

Whenever possible I try to keep the seal on the vintage china I use in my hummingbirds. These will be available at Cherokee National Holiday in Tahlequah Labor Day weekend. Oh, and if you haven’t watched David Attenborough’s “The Secret Life of Hummingbirds”, it’s fascinating.

Wanted to say a big thank you to Enid and those who visited my booth and to those that supported my art. It was a hoot listening to Van Full of Nuns while we were packing up. Here's to many more Painted Sky Festivals in the future!
