Parts of Tulsa's Gathering Place are glowing purple Sunday night as part of the Shades for Migraines campaign, an effort to raise awareness for people living with chronic migraines. The woman behind the local event knows that pain firsthand.
For as long as she can remember, Mandy Schwarm has lived with chronic migraines.
"It's anxiety about when you're going to have enough medication to make it through a migraine attack," Schwarm said. "It's lonely. It's depressing. It's canceling of family plans. It's calling in at work."
