Just a friendly reminder, as we are getting into fall and colder temperatures and with less humidity in the air this time of year, it's important to maintain your acoustic guitars integrity.
When we start to close windows for the season and turn on our heat, it's the most dangerous time for your acoustic instrument, so proper humidification is essential to the play-ability and care of your guitar!
Make sure that you are prepared for the winter months by having a plan to care for your acoustic guitar during this time. There are several products on the market to combat this issue. Another suggestion is to run a room humidifier in your guitars' nesting place at home to keep humidity levels consistent. Ideally, the recommended humidity levels should be between 45 and 65 percent relative humidity to keep your instrument playing at its best.
Without humidity guitar necks can warp, bindings can separate and playing action can become high and make your guitar difficult to play. Also, bridges can start to separate from the body of your guitar resulting in the need for costly repairs. So, be prepared and have a plan for your acoustic instruments this winter!
