We have two new releases today AND a review from Heather of one of her recent favorites!

MURDER AT THE GRAND ALPINE HOTEL is a new mystery where the main character is Agatha Christie's Miss Marple but it written by modern thriller author Lucy Foley. This one is definitely going to be a good time.

We love Tananarive Due around here. The Reformatory from her backlist is a masterpiece. Her newest tale is MAZYWOOD and is a dual timeline ghost story that delves into family history and consequences of choices.

And fianlly, Heather shares her thoughts on The Calamity Club which has been the most popular book coming out of our store for the past few months.

New releases for this week!

Emily St. John Mandel is one of our favorites around here. Her highly anticpated new release, EXIT PARTY, takes us a few years into the future and delves into alternate timelines and realities. We have a selection of her backlist on our shelves as well.

HOLLOW BONES by Jodi Piccoult is a dual timeline story that follows a woman who died in the WTC attack and her infant orphaned daughter who is now an adult.

If you like dark academia and horror, check out DEAD BEAT by Leigh Bardugo. This is hte third book in the Ninth House series.

Elin Hilderbrand and her daughter, Shelby Cunningham ,are back for senior year at the Academy with THE THOROUGHBREADS. This is a perfect cozy fall read.

And in paperback new releases, check out DOCTORS BY NATURE: HOW ANTS, APES, AND OTHER ANIMALS HEAL THEMSELVES. This nonfiction is about animals heal themselves and some things we may learn from them.

Better late than never! The delivery was a little late yesterday, but well worth the wait. We have some awesome new releases.

TAPEI STORY is the newest from R.F. Kuang, author of Yellowface, The Poppy War, and Babel. This one is a coming-of-age novel that is highly rated. And we have a gorgeous special edition!

BURN OF THE EVERFLAME is book #4 in the Kindred's Curse series by Penn Cole. This is an epic fantasy and we have the special edition version.

From the author of the popular The Frozen River we have THE PIRATE QUEEN. Ariel Lawhorn has woven a beautiful and thrilling historical fiction set in 16th-century Irleand.

WE ALREADY DUG THE GRAVE by Emma C. Wells is described as "Sharp Objects with a dash of Practical Magic in a southern gothic thriller with cool girl edge." Whew! This one sounds like fun.

Finally, there is PICTURES OF YOU by Josh Mallerman who you may know from Bird Box and Incidents Around the House. His latest is a Hitchcockian thriller with horror elements perfect for spooky season.

Dana's Favorite for August! UNDER STORY by Chloe Benjamin is a brand new speculative fiction/literary fiction/scifi that released just this week. It is a story of grief and hope. This book is pretty heavy on the science and you have to pay attention to keep up with the timeline. It it not a "popcorn book." But it is so worth it. NEW RELEASES! We lov e weeks like this. This is the time of year when we start to see a lot of new books dropping. And, boy, do we have a great selection this week.

UNDER STORY by Chloe Benjamin is what we would call Literary SciFi. This is beautifully written and one of our new favorites.

KISS SLAY REPLAY by Rachel Harrison combines a killer, a time loop, a wedding, and romance in the newest Horror Rom-Com.

Take a trip to the Gilded Age in HAWK & SPARROW. Ayana Gray brings the mystery in her latest Fantasy tome.

James Islington is a master of SciFi. He proves it with SCION which is described as "John Wick meets Blade Runner."

And, finally, we have THE KNAVE AND THE MOON. This is the second book in the Fantasy/Romantasy series, The Stonewater Kingdom, by Rachel Gillig.
