Let me tell you about these pictures. The first picture was taken at SiouxperCon IV (2019). This is a picture of me with two friends for whom I have tremendous respect and admiration. On the left is Eliot Rahal, comic book writing savant, general goofball and all around decent guy. I’ve known few people that are both as charming and sincere as Eliot. He has written some great stuff the last few years. My personal favorites include “Hot Lunch Special” and “Midnight Vista,” both published by AfterShock Comics. Check them out but stay tuned, I know he has some tremendous work in the pipeline. On the right is Clara Meath, (The Art of Clara Meath) who is in my very humble opinion one of the most talented new artists in the comic industry. I’m not wrong about this. She is at the start of what will turn out to be an amazing career. She’s just too damn talented and creative and smart for this not to come true. She did the art on Eliot’s book “Midnight Vista,” and it blows me away. That guy in the middle? Well, that’s me. I sell comic books. I’ve had a shop for 22 years. It’s a blessing and a curse, but that’s true for any small business owner. What’s the best part of having a comic shop? Getting to meet creators like these two. Over the past couple decades I’ve met a lot of famous and popular writers and artists, but meeting people like Eliot and Clara is far more exciting to me. Why? Because I feel like I’ve discovered a secret that only a few people know. These two aren’t exactly famous. They aren’t huge names in the industry. But they should be. They deserve to be. And they will be. I know it. So now you know the secret, too: These two creators are phenomenal! Help me spread the word!

This week Eliot has a new title out published by Aftershock Comics called “Knock ‘em Dead.” It’s a crazy premise involving stand up comedy and death and, well
It’s classified as Supernatural Horror Comedy for a reason.

The second picture is my shop’s exclusive cover variant for Knock ‘em Dead #1. Despite giving her short notice, Clara was kind enough to do the artwork for this. I teamed up with Travis Noakes from the YouTube channel “Comics With Bueller” to produce this cover. I have to say it turned out great! Bravo Eliot! Brava Clara!

If you want to buy “Knock ‘Em Dead” it is available at fine comic book shops everywhere including mine. If you would like to buy the exclusive cover by Clara Meath it is available from dakotacomics.com.
