Brides, get ready to swoon… 🙌

Meet KA Cinder Rose—one of those dahlias that stops you in your tracks.

This season, I was lucky enough to grow just ONE ☝️ tuber, and she has rewarded me with an abundance of the most exquisite, soft smoky rose-pink blooms. The color is simply breathtaking—romantic, refined, and made for bridal work.

I can already picture her tucked into an elegant bridal bouquet alongside creamy whites, blushes, and the softest garden textures.

I’m so grateful for dahlia hybridizers like Kristine Albrecht of Kristine Albrecht - Dahlias, who dedicate themselves to creating beautiful, healthy varieties that allow flower farmers and florists to bring something truly special to our couples.

I’m so looking forward to gathering with you at the beautiful, world-class Shiraz Gardens for “A Morning With Dahlias”.

We’ll spend the morning creating a lush, garden-style arrangement like this one to take home, followed by tea and something sweet — all for $75.

And honestly, the arrangement alone is worth more than the ticket. 😘

There are still a few spots available, but registration closes Monday, August 31 at 6 PM. After that, I’ll have everything I need to prepare the flowers and materials for our morning together.

With the kids heading back to school, this time of year can bring a little more breathing room for some moms. But no matter what season of life you’re in, I know how easy it is to fill our days with everyone and everything else — and forget to make a little room for ourselves.

So consider this your invitation to put yourself first. 🫶🏼

A Morning with Dahlias is more than a flower-arranging workshop. It’s a chance to step away from the busy, spend a little time surrounded by beautiful flowers, learn a new skill, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating something with your hands.

Whether you’re a mom who could use a morning to yourself, someone who’s been wanting to learn the art of arranging, or simply looking for a beautiful way to slow down and connect with others, there’s a place for you here.

And while this may be especially lovely for the women in our community, everyone is welcome. Come on your own, bring a friend, or come ready to meet someone new.

After we finish arranging, we’ll gather with tea and take a little time to admire our floral creations, linger in good company, and simply enjoy the magnificent landscape at Shiraz Gardens designed by my friend Alex Larry.

You’ll leave with a lush dahlia arrangement of your own, a new skill to take with you, and hopefully the feeling that you gave yourself something we don’t always make enough time for: a morning just for you.

Yesterday, Martina, one of my wonderful flower friends and customers, surprised me with a little gift from her garden—golden yellow dahlias.

As a flower farmer-florist, it’s especially meaningful to be on the receiving end of flowers for a change—especially dahlias.
Such a simple, thoughtful gesture, but one that touched my heart.

Because somewhere along the way, flowers became about so much more than flowers. They brought people into my life. They opened the door to friendships, shared moments, long conversations, laughter, and a community of people who understand the joy of growing something beautiful.

Looking back at these little moments with my flower friends, my heart feels very full.

A sweet reminder of just how much can grow from a shared love of flowers. Thank you, Martina Jacobson. 💛

Whether you’ve never arranged flowers before, or you’re a floral designer simply looking to spend a beautiful morning creating with flowers, A Morning with Dahlias is for you.

Alex and I are sharing a little more about what you can expect when you join us at Shiraz Gardens. Surrounded by the peaceful water features of the Japanese-inspired garden and the romantic, cottage-style beauty throughout the grounds, you’ll spend the morning arranging with an abundance of locally grown dahlias and seasonal blooms.

Everything you need will be waiting for you—flowers, vessels, tools, and floral mechanics—so you can settle in, relax, and enjoy the simple pleasure of creating. I’ll be there to offer guidance and inspiration, whether you’re arranging flowers for the very first time or simply want a beautiful excuse to create alongside other flower lovers.

Afterward, we’ll gather for a Persian tea ceremony with Alex, where he’ll prepare a variety of teas for us to taste and enjoy together, along with a locally made seasonal treat.

Come as you are. No experience necessary—just a love of flowers.

Join me for a beautiful morning devoted to dahlias — exploring their beautiful forms, colors, and movement while creating your own lush seasonal arrangement to take home.

This is an intimate, flower-filled experience for dahlia lovers who want to slow down, create, and spend a little time surrounded by an abundance of beautiful blooms and a warm cup of tea.

I had the sweetest bride to create for today, and I couldn’t resist sharing a glimpse of her creamy dahlia bouquet with you. There’s something about working with these flowers that never gets old — their color, form, and incredible variety make every arrangement feel completely its own. 🤍
