From a large-scale origami installation to a wedding celebration in Atlanta 🕊️✨

Inspired by our “Doves of Peachtree Road” installation at Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, a bride and groom wanted to bring the same feeling to their own wedding at the Capitol City Club in Atlanta.

Our team folded and prepared the origami doves, then shipped them to Atlanta, where they were beautifully installed above the celebration by the local event team.

We love seeing how an idea can take on a new life in a completely different space—and how origami installations can be adapted to events of all sizes.

📺 Taro’s Origami Studio Asakusa was featured on Japanese TV! ✨

Earlier this year, SBC Shin-etsu Broadcasting visited our Asakusa Studio for their program “Sustainable Uppii.”

SBC announcer Keiko Nakazawa explored the studio, discovered origami works by our artists in Japan and the US, and took on two origami challenges herself: Mt. Fuji ⛰️ and an advanced origami rose! 🌹

The segment also introduced how “Origami” has spread around the world, from education to new forms of artistic expression.

We’ve shared more about the TV feature on our blog!

Installation is now underway at St. Andrew Methodist Church in Plano, Texas.

After months of design, folding, engineering, and preparation, our team is now turning the vision into reality — carefully positioning and suspending thousands of hand-folded doves and cardinals throughout the Sanctuary.

There is still a lot of work ahead, and this is not the finished installation yet. But everything is progressing well, and with each day, the flocks are beginning to take shape.

It has been especially exciting to watch the space transform — from an empty Sanctuary, to the rigging and net system, to hundreds of individual birds gradually taking flight above the congregation.

More to come as we continue the installation in Texas.

Still a work in progress. But SOAR is beginning to fly.
