one of the most popular pairs — the winged victory of samothrace (also known as the nike victory of samothrace) earrings are made from a cast of the original sculpture housed at the skulpturhalle basel.

the winged victory of samothrace is a marble hellenistic sculpture of nike, the greek goddess of victory, created around 200-190 bce.

NEW !! ionic column earrings

The Ionic order is one of the three canonic orders of Classical architecture alongside Doric and Corinthian. The Ionic order is classified as having the narrowest columns and is characterized by the use of volutes – a spiral ornament found in the capitals of the columns. Interestingly, the ancient architect and architectural historian Vitruvius often associated the Ionic order with femininity, while the Doric order was thought to represent masculinity.

SILVER marcus aurelius bust earrings !! (honestly these may be my favorite pair of earrings that i sell)

marcus aurelius was a roman emperor who ruled from 161 to 180 ce. he was known as the last of the five good emperors (as coined by machiavelli). he was also a stoic philosopher, whose writings known as the “meditations” are an important source of contemporary understanding of this kind of philosophy.
