If you asked 20 year old Georgia what she would be doing 20 years later, she would not have said chainmaille. She would have said investigator, lawyer, or chef. Out of those three, chef was my top choice. Cooking is my passion, but so is art in any form. Then again cookie IS art. Aside from getting a degree in Forensic Psychology, I minored in two art fields. I have always run on creativity, whether through problem solving or creating something memorable to bring out smiles.
I picked up chainmaille while working my job as an assistant director. Soon after, I started vending at events. What sealed the deal on turning this into my full time career was selling at New York Comic Con, followed by many other conventions.
Would I go back and change the path twenty year old Georgia took? Maybe, but being able to create art, see people wear it, and watch them light up is everything to me. It has opened doors, brought amazing experiences, and so much more. Is it a headache sometimes? Absolutely. I take physical breaks from crafting, but my mind never stops creating.

Let this be a sign that you can do whatever your little heart desires, event if it’s just a hobby. If you love it, do it.
