We don’t have enough large, beautiful photography publications, you say? Last weekend we attended the exhibition for Obsidiana Publications at New York Life Gallery (a fave!) and were impressed enough to ask them to carry their work. Based in Mexico City and Paris, Obsidiana brings together new and classic photographers in these gorgeous “coffee table” magazines. Impressive!

Visited Melville’s resting place in Woodlawn Cemetery today. Loved all the pens people leave and the sweet note of admiration. Ishmael & Billy Budd both q***r as hell, right? Also, I love you Greenwood, but Woodlawn has the best monuments and tombstones I’ve ever seen.

Zines are a labor intensive form of publishing because they’re are usually hand-made. So these beautiful hand-made books must have really taken some time to assemble and bind. The hardcover version of Skirting Rock Bottom has a plush leopard skin cover! Wow! I haven’t had the chance to read these yet so I’m including the back covers to give you an idea. I can’t wait to dig in. Highly recommended.
