I have been making jewelry for several years now, mostly for gifts, but selling here and there. This therapeutic hobby was born out of a love for GEMSTONES!! I am a gem geek and have found my creative outlet in jewelry. I enjoy upcycling old pieces, & making custom orders, as well as some repairs. So, when my beautiful friend, asked me to make her some bangles, I began my hunt for the best wire and beads to create them with. I used 316 stainless steel and gold brass wire, with a tarnish-resistant coating. This led to making hundreds of bangles and other custom creations and has allowed me to build up a little workshop in my home (My happy place)! But the best part was meeting new people and seeing their faces light up when they received their custom made accessory! I have thus far, focused on making quality, but affordable, fashion jewelry, however, with the collection of tools and materials I have been able to collect, I am moving into more metalsmithing and creating homes for some of my gorgeous stones, in my favorite metal, Sterling silver!
Being a SAHM, has been a blessing and a challenge, and led me to find my passion and the great joy in creating! So, when my youngest child entered kindergarten, I found a wonderful opportunity to apprentice with a truly, genius jeweler and craftsman right here in Brooksville, FL, aka JEWELERMAN!! I then worked for an amazing entrepreneur and wonderful person, in our beautiful, little town, called, House of Passage. This provided great insight into the retail world, of fashion jewelry. Later, I managed the repair department in a 30-year strong, retail jewelry store, learning even more about the mechanics of fine jewelry.. until Covid19 changed the world :( I am now, and probably for the rest of my days, on a journey to learn as much about creating jewelry and metal works, as life allows!
