Clients often hesitate about using texture in a bathroom. Bankun Raffia by Thibaut is how we give them the look they want without the concern of a natural material near their shower.

It reads as hand-woven raffia. It performs as vinyl. The embossing carries all the dimension of the natural fiber with none of the moisture anxiety, which makes it one of the few textures we specify with total confidence in kitchens and baths.

Emily brought us into her remodel with several rooms to paper and a house in the middle of becoming something new.

That is the whole job. A pattern that photographs well is easy to find. A wallcovering that still makes sense once the furniture shifts, the light changes and the trend cycle moves on takes a different conversation. Scale in context, how color behaves against her finishes, which rooms should speak first. That is where we spent our time.

Hearing her talk about the experience is the part we don’t get to see often. Thank you, Emily, for trusting us with your walls.

A wall can match the room perfectly and still feel flat. That’s a texture problem, not a color problem.

Texture is what gives a room dimension you can feel. Naturals like grasscloth and raffia bring warmth that reads across the room. Embossed vinyls carry that depth into kitchens and baths where natural fibers can’t go. Flock adds a raised, velvet-soft surface that reads unapologetically formal. Each material serves a different purpose, and matching the right one to the right room is most of the job.
